Accessibility Statement
Effective date:
Pharmvisory LLC wants everyone who uses RxPortal to be able to read it and use it, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or other assistive technology.
Our target
We aim for RxPortal, including this website and the pharmacy portals, to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we do on this website
These points apply to this website, rxportal.app, and are checked by the tests described below.
- The typeface is Atkinson Hyperlegible, designed by the Braille Institute to keep similar letters and numbers easy to tell apart.
- Text meets WCAG contrast ratios, and links in text are underlined rather than shown by color alone.
- Pages use headings, landmarks and lists so they can be navigated with a screen reader.
- Every link works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus outline. Each page starts with a skip link.
- Buttons and links are large enough to tap. Pages reflow to a single narrow column when zoomed to 400%.
- Nothing moves, flashes or changes on a timer.
- Every page is checked automatically with axe-core against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA rules on each change, along with an automated keyboard-only test and a check that pages fit a 320 pixel wide screen.
The pharmacy and prescriber portals
The portals are designed to the same standard and are being tested against it. They use the same typeface and colors, reduce motion when your device asks for it, and adjust each pharmacy’s brand colors where needed so that buttons and text stay readable.
Known limitations
- Our testing so far is automated. Automated tools catch only some problems, and we have not yet tested with screen readers or other assistive technology.
- The portals are new and still being built, and some screens may not fully meet the standard yet.
- For security, the portals sign you out after 15 minutes without activity. They warn you before this happens and let you stay signed in.
- Each pharmacy uploads its own logo. We cannot check what an image shows, so its text alternative is the pharmacy’s name followed by the word “logo”, for example “Example Pharmacy logo”.
Tell us about a barrier
If something in RxPortal is hard or impossible for you to use, please email [email protected]. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and, if you like, the browser and assistive technology you use. We can also give you the information in another format.
We aim to reply within 5 business days. We will try to fix the problem, or offer another way to get the task done, as quickly as we can.
